Architect Engineer

Engineering · Monterey, CA, USA · On-site · Full-time · $40K–$70K / year + token/equity incentives · CLOSED

We’re looking for an Architect Engineer to help define the technical foundation of an ambitious AI + Web3 SaaS platform.

This is not a role where you spend six months drawing boxes in architecture diagrams.

You’ll be close to the code, close to the product, and deeply involved in deciding how our systems should actually work.

We’re building an AI-native SaaS platform that brings together LLMs, autonomous agents, data infrastructure, blockchain technology, and our own emerging token ecosystem. We need someone who can think about the entire system — from the user experience and APIs all the way down to distributed infrastructure, AI inference, smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain interactions.

What you’ll own

  • Define the architecture of our AI and Web3 SaaS platform.
  • Design scalable distributed systems and service boundaries.
  • Establish patterns for AI agents, LLM orchestration, RAG, inference, memory, and tool execution.
  • Design APIs and event-driven infrastructure connecting AI services with Web3 systems.
  • Architect integrations with blockchain networks, wallets, smart contracts, and on-chain data.
  • Help define the technical architecture supporting our upcoming token ecosystem.
  • Evaluate blockchain infrastructure, indexing solutions, RPC providers, and decentralized services.
  • Establish standards for security, reliability, observability, scalability, and developer experience.
  • Work closely with engineers to turn architecture decisions into production systems.
  • Identify technical risks before they become expensive problems.
  • Prototype new technologies and determine what is actually worth adopting.
  • Help shape our engineering roadmap as the product evolves.

The systems you may touch

  • AI agents and agent orchestration
  • LLM and multimodal model infrastructure
  • RAG and vector search
  • AI inference pipelines
  • Distributed backend services
  • Event-driven architectures
  • API gateways and microservices
  • PostgreSQL, Redis, vector databases, and data pipelines
  • Blockchain nodes and RPC infrastructure
  • Smart contracts and wallet infrastructure
  • Token and on-chain ecosystem infrastructure
  • Cloud-native infrastructure and observability
  • Developer platforms and internal tooling

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience designing and building production software systems.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture.
  • Experience designing APIs, services, databases, queues, caching, and event-driven systems.
  • Strong software engineering background — you should still be comfortable opening the IDE and writing production code.
  • Experience with AI/ML systems, LLM applications, AI agents, or related infrastructure.
  • Strong interest or experience in blockchain and Web3 architecture.
  • Ability to balance architectural elegance with shipping real products.
  • Strong technical communication and the ability to explain complicated systems without turning every conversation into a three-hour architecture lecture.

Bonus points

  • Deep experience with Ethereum or EVM-compatible chains.
  • Solidity and smart contract architecture.
  • Experience with DeFi, tokenomics infrastructure, wallets, DAOs, or on-chain analytics.
  • Experience building agentic AI systems.
  • Experience with model serving, inference optimization, or GPU infrastructure.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or other infrastructure tooling.
  • Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
  • Experience with high-throughput or highly distributed systems.
  • You have opinions about architecture — but you’re willing to change them when the evidence says otherwise.

Why join us?

You’ll have unusual levels of technical ownership.

Instead of maintaining a giant legacy platform and spending your days debating whether a ticket should be labeled P1 or P2, you’ll help decide what the architecture of an entirely new AI + Web3 platform should look like.

We’re a friendly, highly technical team that enjoys building ambitious things without creating a toxic “10x engineer” culture.

There will be whiteboards, prototypes, questionable ideas, good coffee, technical rabbit holes, spontaneous architecture discussions, and probably someone asking, “Could we just build this ourselves?”

We want people who are genuinely excited to find out.

If you want to help define how AI agents, SaaS, and decentralized infrastructure come together — and you want a meaningful technical role in shaping that future — come build with us.
