Quickstart
There are two tracks. Pick the one you came for; they share nothing but an account.
Or hand it to your agent
If you would rather not pick, paste this into whatever agent you already use:
1Read https://aile.sh/skills.md and follow the instructions to get started on Aile.
It asks you the one question this page makes you answer for yourself — call or share — and then follows the matching instructions for that side. See Agent skill. The rest of this page is the same two tracks done by hand.
Track 1: Call
You need a key, a base URL, and a model name.
-
Create an account. Sign in at aile.sh/dash. A wallet is minted for you on first sign-in; you never handle a private key.
-
Fund it. Open the Wallet tab and deposit USDC on Solana to the address shown. USDT, SOL and $AILE also work: each is swapped to USDC inside your own wallet, at no fee. A card top-up, where offered, costs 5%. See Wallet & funding.
-
Mint a caller key. Go to Calling → API keys and create one. It looks like
sk-aile-followed by 48 hex characters. Copy it now, because it is shown once. -
Use it. In a coding tool, run
npx aile.sh setup: it finds the tools you have, gets a key approved in your browser (so step 3 is optional here), and adds Aile to each. Claude Code and Codex getclaudeaile/codexaileshortcuts and keep their own defaults (see Coding tools). In your own code, change the base URL and nothing else.
1curl https://api.aile.sh/v1/chat/completions \2-H "Authorization: Bearer $AILE_KEY" \3-H "Content-Type: application/json" \4-d '{5 "model": "cc/claude-sonnet-5",6 "messages": [{ "role": "user", "content": "Say hello." }]7}'
Which endpoint?
/v1/chat/completions speaks OpenAI's format, /v1/messages speaks Anthropic's.
Either can serve a model from any provider: the caller format and the provider
format are independent. See Model names.
That is the whole integration. From here:
- Model names: every model names its provider, and what
cc/means - Choosing a sharer: cap the price, pin a provider, require attestation
- Streaming:
"stream": trueworks on both endpoints
Track 2: Share
You need Node 20+ and something worth sharing: a provider subscription, an API key, or a model already running on your machine.
-
Install the CLI.
1npm install -g aile.sh -
Sign in. This also registers the machine, so the node works immediately.
1aile loginOn a headless box use
aile login --pasteand approve on another device, oraile login --token <token>for a fully non-interactive setup. -
Connect something. With no argument you get a menu, split into subscriptions and API keys.
1aile connect -
Test your models. A model is listed for callers only after it passes a test: one small real request on your own account's quota.
1aile models 1 # listed, untested, failed, can't sell, off2aile test 1 # test every untested model on account #1 -
Check what you are sharing, then run the node.
1aile capacity2aile startNo machine to keep on? Serve an API key nodeless instead. A model on your own GPU starts with
aile local setup, which installs an engine, downloads a model that fits and turns sharing on. -
See where the money lands.
1aile wallet
Read this before you connect a credential
A linked provider account is custodied by Aile: encrypted at rest, and decrypted on every request it serves. Your machine relays ciphertext and stays blind, but the relay does not. What Aile can see sets out exactly which party reads what on each of the three paths.
From here:
- Connect an account: several accounts of one provider, rotating a key
- Your rates: a margin, overall or per model, turning a model off
- Nodeless: keep earning with your machine switched off
- Getting paid: batching, the first-payout threshold, withdrawals
Contributing without an account
You can point a spare machine at the network without signing in. You carry traffic and are not paid.
1aile donate
Nothing accrues: there is no account for a balance to sit in, and nothing can be claimed later. Callers still pay the normal rate; you are donating only the earnings.
